The Program… The program targets middle school & junior high students. Keith & son Alex take the race car to schools where they discuss the importance of staying in school and how it relates to drag racing by using math, science, physics, and logic. Students are challenged to achieve near perfect attendance and good conduct for the school year and are rewarded in May for their efforts. Among the prizes awarded, winners this year will receive racing t-shirts, driver cards, coupons, gift certificates and cash. The program is funded by Viscardi Industrial Services, LLC, Viscardi Industries, Inc., and local merchants and will hopefully be expanded each year to include more schools and more prizes. This program is working successfully in Kentucky with Harper Motorsports as school attendance records have increased by at least 15% each year it has been in place.
Life-long Learning The Viscardi family’s reputation as successful business people and passionate drag racers can be attributed to their drive for lifelong learning. A graduate of Pine Prairie High School & Louisiana Technical College, Keith used a degree in welding mechanics to embark on a successful career in the industrial/oilfield service business. Viscardi is the managing partner of Viscardi Industrial Services, LLC., a family owned and operated onsite construction business in Louisiana & Texas. He has had the opportunity to participate in many professional and civic organizations. Since 1985, he has been involved with Rotary International, The American Welding Society, Ducks Unlimited, Hunter Safety Education, Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries Education and is considered a true conservationist. He remains firmly committed to the importance of quality education for our children and continued opportunities for every person. No doubt a sound education creates more job opportunities and a successful career. Good advice to children is to make the best of school and sports which creates the importance of being a good team player. Teamwork is a vital part of our success in racing and business. While we cannot win if we're not in the race, you cannot learn if you're not in school trying you best.
